Essay on Masculinity, Fatherhood and Feminism

It’s obvious that the gender topic has been changing in the last decades. It’s an evolution that made us realize that in society exist habits, actions and thoughts that we used to believe that were corrected, but it’s not. An example of this is the actual masculinity, something that has different points of view. Some people agree with the current system, where the man must work to make the money while the mother care for the kids and she stayed in the home. And that is the thing that we have to change. Equality.

It’s a very hard process, but as a society, we start to change it. The evolution of the masculinity, and how this affects the fatherhood. That it’s what I’m going to explain in all this text.

The feminist movement was just the start, it’s for this that is the most important social manifestation, with a disagree with the actual patriarchy system that made them impossible to arise as a real woman. Yes, I agree. Man and women should have the same rights and the same possibilities in society. But, how I said before, it’s an extensive process. Now, it’s start to eliminate the stereotype of the man that we had years ago. It’s an important step. The new kind of families, the new kind of love are things that affect the breeding methods in the child, they will grow up in a better world, with the possibility of life in a family that love them, and teach them good values

But, How this have a relation with fatherhood? Currently, fatherhood has many challenges at home and work.  First of all, if you are father you must start to break the gender roles, break the current hegemonic masculinity, start to learn about the new kind of families that could exist.
